Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose

The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for leading all sales and marketing activities during the hotel’s pre-opening and operational phases. This includes developing and executing strategic plans to establish market presence, increase occupancy, and drive revenue across all business segments. The position requires a results-oriented professional with extensive MICE experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to create long-term client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Opening Phase

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive pre-opening sales and marketing plan, including timelines, budgets, and measurable objectives.
  • Establish the hotel’s brand positioning, pricing, and marketing communication strategies in coordination with corporate and brand teams.
  • Identify and engage key market segments — corporate, leisure, MICE, government, travel trade, and weddings.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify business opportunities.
  • Build the hotel’s sales database, initiate pre-opening client outreach, and secure advance bookings for events and rooms.
  • Coordinate the creation of marketing materials, digital content, and pre-launch campaigns.
  • Recruit, train, and manage the pre-opening Sales & Marketing team.

Post-Opening / Operational Phase

  • Drive sales performance to achieve or exceed revenue goals for rooms, F&B, events, and catering.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key corporate, travel, and event accounts.
  • Oversee banquet and event sales strategies to maximize utilization of event spaces.
  • Work closely with Reservations on forecasting, yield management, and rate strategy.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor performance, and customer feedback to adjust strategy as needed.
  • Oversee the implementation of digital marketing campaigns, social media, and website optimization.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and present to management on business performance and pipeline.
  • Ensure consistent brand image and messaging across all channels.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and exhibitions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or Hospitality Management.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of sales and marketing experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Proven track record in driving revenue in hotels with extensive event and banquet facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of MICE market, corporate sales, and digital marketing trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using PMS and CRM systems (e.g., Opera Cloud, Delphi, or similar).
  • Creative, proactive, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
